In 2002, I stayed at Lancaster University for about 6 months, as part of my
studies. That was the time where I would still print out the navigation
instructions to paper and consult a printed route map.
The Japan Rail Pass,
was one of the first
things that I covered here - after all, this site was originally planned to
share our experiences going to Japan.
The great Japan Rail Pass
is up for a giant price hike at “some point in October”. Prices will go up
65-69% for the ordinary class pass by then.
My last post was on the impeding closure of the old Berlin Tegel airport. I arrived from the Paris lockdown, going my separate ways, and it has been a great ride since then.
After sticking to magnet-stripe paper tickets for a long time; Paris now
introduces smart travel cards for “normal” travellers.
Almost a decade after its planned closing date, Tegel airport may just
silently fade away in the COVID-19 emergency.
